The clock's planned design
The original thinking on the case design was to go with the Aaron Willard design [similar to our six-generation family clock]. However, I saw a clock with a simpler design and decided to go with that. As for the dial, the plan is to re-paint keeping the same numeral design but eliminating the paintings [characteristic of the 1800's clock dials]. Here is a picture of my original plans, which I will modify, and a picture of the design I intend to build but without a glass door. A learned eye would notice that this design has a short pendulum. Actually, this clock has an electric movement. So, I will be duplicating just the case and will have a solid door. Also, my clock case will be made from my brother's IL walnut and not the lighter wood shown in this design.
