Today, my wife and I headed to Lowes to get the material that I needed to build a thickness planer jig. The jig will allow me to get better results when I pass the larger walnut lumber through my new thickness planer. All worked as planned. My objective today was to ensure that I could mill-down the 1"+ lumber to exactly 3/4". In that I will be joining lumber using butt joints and miter joints, this step was critical. It worked well and my wife was a good sport about me making a mess of our newly-cleaned-out garage. Made sure we wore ear protection. Next time I'll add a mask and eye protection. Enjoy the photos below and I will be adding more soon.
